These terms come in two parts, because the platform has two kinds of user. Part A is for organisations that rent boxes. Part B is for senders, who have no account and sign nothing — their part is short on purpose.

Part A — Organisations

1. The service

TellSG provides anonymous message boxes: a page at a tell.sg address where people can write to your organisation without identifying themselves, and a console where your team reads and replies. Plans, prices, and per-plan limits are as published at tell.sg/business.

2. Platform rules that override your configuration

Some behaviour is the product, not a setting, and you cannot alter it by configuration or by asking:

  • No box may require a sender to identify themselves. There is no identity field to enable.
  • Every box carries the platform's anonymity statement, which links to our threat model.
  • Replies are written by people. There is no bulk or automated reply.
  • If messages sit unread beyond the published threshold, the box page says so — without counts or dates — until you catch up.
  • Case access is recorded (who on your team first opened a case), and deletion runs through a safety window with an audit record no one can edit.

If these constraints do not fit your intended use, do not rent a box.

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for how your organisation handles what it receives: investigation, response, escalation, record-keeping obligations under any law that applies to you (including, where applicable, workplace grievance handling requirements). TellSG provides the channel and the records; it is not the investigator, and it does not review case content in the ordinary course of operations.

You must ensure the people you seat on a box are authorised to read what it receives, and remove seats promptly when people leave.

4. Verification and your name

Display of your registered name and UEN on your box requires verification — currently by a nominal bank transfer from an account held in your registered name, refunded after the match. The name displayed is the registered name, not a name you type. Name display is an entitlement of paid plans: on the free plan a verified name is not displayed, and it returns without re-verification when the box is on any paid plan. Your readable address keeps resolving regardless of plan, so printed material does not break.

We may withhold or withdraw a displayed name where the underlying registration lapses, where verification was obtained by deception, or where display would assist impersonation. We will tell you if we do.

5. Fees, trials, downgrades

New boxes include a 30-day trial of the Lite feature set, no payment method required. When a paid plan ends — by cancellation, non-payment, or trial expiry — the box moves to the free plan rather than expiring: open cases stay reachable, printed posters keep working. What changes on the free plan is published on the pricing page.

6. Cancellation, wind-down, deletion

You may cancel from the console at any time. On cancellation you choose between a wind-down (the box stops accepting new messages but stays readable for 60 days, so open conversations can finish) and deletion. Deletion is executed only after a notified safety window, during which the box's own administrator can cancel it — and that veto is final, including against the account owner. Deletion is permanent and leaves per-case tombstones so returning senders are told the truth.

7. What we are not liable for

To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law: the content of messages is written by senders, not by us, and we are not liable for it — including messages that are mistaken, defamatory, or malicious. You accept that an anonymous channel can receive bad-faith reports and that assessing them is your responsibility. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from the service is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We do not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Suspension and termination by us

We may suspend or close a box used in breach of these terms or the Fair Use Policy, used for a purpose other than receiving genuine feedback intended to be read, or where required by law. Where practicable we will warn you first.

9. General

These terms are governed by Singapore law, and the Singapore courts have exclusive jurisdiction. We may update these terms; material changes will be notified to the account email with reasonable notice before taking effect. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stands.

Part B — Senders

You do not need an account, and these terms do not require you to identify yourself — nothing does.

  • Your passphrase is the only key to your conversation. We cannot recover, reset, or look it up. If you lose it, the conversation is closed to you permanently.
  • The organisation controls its box. It can reply, close a case, delete a case, or close the box. If a case you wrote is deleted, entering your passphrase will tell you so plainly.
  • Write lawfully. Do not use a box to threaten, harass, or deliberately deceive, and do not submit content that is illegal to possess or distribute. The Fair Use Policy applies to you as well.
  • Honesty about limits: what we hold, what we can be compelled to disclose, and where anonymity ends is documented in our threat model. Read it before sending anything whose consequences worry you.
